Style Watch: New York Winter Fashion

Cover Page

Happy Holidays my panda followers! I am so excited to share with you all this blog post I have made in New York City. New York Winter Fashion is all about dressing fashionably and capturing the holiday spirit! New York; undeniably, is one of the best cities to be in during Hanukkah and Christmas holidays. The busy streets, the well-decorated and lit buildings and, not to mention, the weather, is a perfect recipe to have a Winter Wonderland experience!

In this blog post, I am featuring three themes that I have carefully selected and hopefully you too, can get in the mood to dress up even if it is about layering clothes, because honestly, it could be really fun!

PANDA AND THE CITY

This look is evidently dedicated to my spirit animal, The Giant Panda. While shopping during Black Friday, I stumbled upon this panda poncho that is made of fleece and has a soft, fuzzy feel to it and I knew I had to get it. I paired it up with a black thigh high boots, panda-printed tights, a black chunky sweater (which is not really visible in the pictures) and to finish off the look, accessorized it with a plush panda handbag and matching jewelries. FESTIVE FASHIONISTA

This look is inspired by the "modern-day" Mrs. Clause. If you have been following my posts, one of Fall's biggest trends in the plaid or tartan pattern especially during the holiday season. I wanted to play with the Christmas theme by really accentuating the color red but breaking the monotony with prints. This sweater was a purchase from last year but never got to wear them until now, which was the perfect timing! Paired it with a red sock booties, an elf-shaped handbag for a whimsical look and lastly, cinched my waist with a black velvet belt that had pave stones in it to keep a little feminine touch to the whole outfit. This photo shoot was done in Central Park which was perfect to capture the Christmas vibe. Different shots were taken at certain areas giving a great backdrop to the outfit. THE BLACK ATTACK

Last but not the least, if you are a New Yorker, the all black look will always be a staple wardrobe in your closet no matter what the season may be. So in ode to The Big Apple. I wore an all black outfit, from head-to-toe: a cape jacket, turtle neck, stretch pants, thigh highs and a mailman hat. However, to break the monotony of the color, the accessories I chose to finish off this look are all similar- - all pieces have pearl studs in them: the belt, gloves and handbag. This was the hardest shoot of all since we had to do it in the busy streets of Manhattan. Thankfully, we were able to pull off all the shots we wanted. Scroll the gallery below to see more of it.

I hope you enjoyed this holiday fashion edit as much as I did. I also wanted to give a huge shoutout to my beloved niece, Lauren, for helping out during the shoot. I wanted to wish each and everyone a very happy holiday season. May we all share the values of love, generosity and giving not only during this time but year-round!
